The Midsumma Visual Arts program celebrates the diversity and uniqueness of the gay community and contemporary queer aesthetics through their Arts Program. One of the major events for the 2007 Curated Visual Arts Program was ‘Shifting Ground’, a photography exhibition showcasing the work of six contemporary, queer-identified photo-media artists who explore the construction, performativity and mutability of identity in their work. This exhibition was held at Red Gallery, North Fitzroy. Artists included: Maree Azzopardi, Denis Chapman, Ray Cook, Jesus Manongdo, Jesse Symon formerly Jesslyn Moss, and Naomie Sunner.
