Transmen Translated began as documentary exhibition, extending to a photographic portrait series. Transmen Translated responds to the lack of TGD imagery within mainstream popular culture. It features over ten artists from the United States of America and Australia, who document their gender affirmation journeys using film, video and photography. Four personal, documentary accounts of the transition experiences are exhibited alongside interviews, photographs and performance pieces. Curated by Jesse Symon formerly Jesslyn Moss, this exhibition was a major highlight of Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival in 2008.
